Ronald Evans is a partner in Baker & McKenzie’s Caracas office. He is the coordinator of the Tax Department of the Caracas office. He is also Chair of the Global Wealth Management Practice Group, co-chair of the Tax Policy Group and a member of the Firm's Latin American Tax Steering Committee.

He is a highly recommended tax lawyer by various legal directories, including Chambers Latin America, PLC Which lawyer?, Latin Lawyer and The International Who's Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers. He served as the first chief of the Venezuelan tax administration’s (SENIAT) international affairs division, and as Venezuela’s official negotiator for double taxation treaties from 1994 to1996, and was an advisor to the minister of foreign affairs on double taxation issues from 1997 to 1999.

Mr. Evans advises on the taxation of cross-border transactions and investments. He counsels on restructurings, transfer pricing, permanent establishment concerns, tax treaty issues, wealth management matters and dispute resolution. Mr. Evans has provided extensive tax advice to major consumer product companies, leading telephone, cellular and telecommunications companies, European and US private banks, as well as wealthy families, family offices and trust companies on wealth management issues.
