Arturo Garnham

Garnham Abogados (Chile)

A graduate of Universidad de Chile (LCJS, Class of 1989) and Georgetown University Law Center (LLM in Taxation, 2001, Distinction) he has substantial experience in advising corporations, high net worth individuals and families in respect of tax, foreign investment and corporate law matters.

Since 1992, he has focused mainly on tax issues, advising corporations and individuals. During the last decade, he has invested considerable time in designing local and international tax structures for private clients and families.

Before joining Garnham Abogados Ltda., Mr. Garnham worked in the tax department of Price Waterhouse (currently PwC), the Santiago Office of Baker & McKenzie and in Noguera Larrain & Dulanto.

He teaches Tax Law at Universidad Diego Portales since 2004 (undergraduate courses) and at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez since 2009 (post-graduate course). He is also a frequent speaker in local and international seminars on foreign investment, tax, trusts and estate planning.

He served in the Advisory Council to the Director of the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (2009-2010) and as a board member of the Chilean Chapter of the International Fiscal Association (IFA Chile, 2012-2014).

Currently he serves as Academic Director of the Post Graduate Tax Course (MDGT) at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez.
