Alejandro Gil
Alejandro Gil is Managing Partner and co-founder of Sophós Advisors, an independent international insurance and risk management advisory firm with offices in Miami, Zurich, and Madrid.
With more than 20 years of experience in the international insurance and private wealth markets, Alejandro advises high-net-worth families, business owners, family offices, financial institutions, and professional advisors on the strategic use of insurance within wealth protection, succession planning, liquidity planning, and cross-border risk management.
His work focuses on Private Placement Life Insurance, international life insurance, unitlinked structures, captive insurance, and bespoke risk management solutions for families and business groups across Latin America, the United States, Switzerland, and Europe.
Before founding Sophós Advisors, Alejandro held senior leadership roles at Willis Towers Watson, where he led the Global Wealth Solutions business across the Americas and participated in regional governance and business development initiatives. He has also served as Managing Partner and Board Member of Asfalis Insurance Company SPC in the Cayman Islands, and as a Member of the Advisory Board of Briseis Insurance SCC in Barbados, both specialized in bespoke self-insurance and reinsurance solutions for business owners.
Through Sophós Advisors, Alejandro has developed an independent advisory platform designed to help clients access viable, innovative, and long-term insurance solutions, representing clients’ interests in the insurance marketplace rather than simply distributing products.
